Hi, I’m Jill. I’m definitely an acquired taste.
My whole life, I’ve been a writer. Over time, that has meant a lot of different things.
I was the nerd who enjoyed essay tests at school. During parts of my formative years, I wrote poetry as a form a self-expression. I’ve also written a novel, and I am in the process of writing a memoir about an issue that is dear to my heart (more on that later). And, of course, there is this blog. I originally started this as a professional website to share some teaching materials. While that is still a part of this project, my blog is now so much more. There are so many social justice issues about which I care deeply, and this is my domain to share my commentary; my domain to be an advocate. This is also my spot to reflect on just how incredible my life is and, most importantly, who God is.
Welcome to my world! A world that mostly includes teaching, coaching, spending time with my husband and fur children, drinking wine, and chasing adventure with all that I am.
Here’s me in Sagunto, Spain (Province of Valencia). This was taken during my study abroad trip. This experience completely turned my life upside down in the best way. Now, I see myself as a citizen of the world. You can’t put borders on the gypsy soul
Here is my FAVORITE wedding picture. June 26, 2014 was a magical day (photo credit to Tony Thagard).
