About Me

Hi, I’m Jill.  I’m definitely an acquired taste.

I teach high school kids, I’m married to my college sweetheart, and I’m a gypsy soul. I wake up to the Appalachian Mountains everyday, and I’m slowly but surely learning how to cope with anxiety and depression. I would bathe in glitter if it were socially acceptable. I appreciate a good book and travel on my budget, and I am always looking for raw, authentic community.

Welcome to my world!

A world that mostly includes teaching, coaching, spending time with my husband and fur children, drinking wine, and chasing adventure with all that I am.

Here’s me in Sagunto, Spain (Province of Valencia). This was taken during my study abroad trip. This experience completely turned my life upside down in the best way. Now, I see myself as a citizen of the world. You can’t put borders on the gypsy soul

This is Colby (my husband) and me during our freshman year at Western Carolina University. We look almost exactly the same today.

Thank you for the kind words! I love traveling more than almost anything in the world. If you think it would help you, check out my post “Wanderlust that won’t bust the bank.” It is all about budget travel (which I have to do, because my husband and I are both teachers).
